How to get to the Châteauroux Shooting Centre

How to get to Châteauroux by public transport

Sportsmen and women from all over the world come to Châteauroux for its famous Shooting Centre to challenge themselves in one of the 12 disciplines managed by the FFTir.

If you're a fan of the discipline, good news! Châteauroux is within easy reach of the capital and Loches.

Here's how to get to Châteauroux and its Shooting Centre from Loches and Paris 👇

From Loches

🚗 By car
It takes just over an hour to drive from Loches to Châteauroux via the departmental roads.

🚌 By bus
Opt for a more environmentally-friendly mode of transport: around ten coaches run between Loches and Châteauroux every day.

Allow 1 hours for the journey.

From Paris

🚄 By train
Did you know? As well as being more environmentally-friendly than the car, the train journey to Châteauroux from the capital takes just 2 hours 20 minutes!

Châteauroux station is served daily by around ten trains departing from Paris Austerlitz: expect a departure every 1 to 2 hours on weekdays and at weekends.

Once there, a shuttle system will take you to the Shooting Centre from Châteauroux station (more information to come).

🚗 By car
Allow 3 hours' travel time if you prefer to make the journey by car.

Take the A7 and A10 motorways down to Châteauroux.

Where to relax after a competition in Châteauroux

Take advantage of an exceptional place to enjoy the gentle pace of life in the Centre-Val de Loire: set in a former 19th-century courthouse, the restaurant La Cour des Saveurs and its lounge bar open their doors to you.

In an elegant, relaxed atmosphere, you can enjoy a splendid terrace from which you can admire the famous Royal City of Loches.

If you opt for a gourmet break in our restaurant, you can choose between two dining concepts:
  • refined cuisine where local produce is brought to life by Christophe Vasseur, Maître restaurateur, and his team
  • bistro cuisine with generous, gourmet dishes
