George Sand's house
In Berry, enter the home of George Sand, one of the most famous French writers of the 19th century.
Open the doors of this elegant building built in the 18th century, acquired by George Sand's grandmother in 1793. George Sand (named Aurore during his childhood) discovered it at the age of 4 and lived until the beginning of his adolescence. She would later return to live there for most of her life. The greatest artists of his time were invited there: Eugène Delacroix, Honoré de Balzac, Frédéric Chopin... George Sand is buried in the family cemetery, a stone's throw from his house.
The tour invites you to enter many richly furnished rooms as well as the park and garden.
