This is a beautiful hotel with so much potential. The decor in the public spaces is lovely and the terrace just perfect in a sunny evening. The rooms are very good and everything there worked well for us. It made me very sad that the hotel was understaffed to meet the needs of its guests. The staff who were there were doing their best but not all of them were sufficiently experienced and on a Monday when most restaurants are closed the bistro needed to be able to cope with the volume of guests - and it couldn’t. We ended up not eating in the evening. Breakfast similarly was not geared for the number of guests. Such a shame. I hate to say it but perhaps you need to raise your prices so that you can afford adequate staffing.

Room among the worst I have experienced in a 4 star (supposedly) hotel. No drawers, shelves you need to be 8 feet tall to utilise, lighting controls designed and installed by a PhD student!! and need a manual just to turn a light on and off.
Definitely not on my visit again list!

We stayed at this hotel while visiting the Chateaus of the Loire. The rooms are very nice as well as the Spa area. The renovations that were made to convert an historical building were excellent.

A beautiful hotel in a great location with some unfortunate challenges.

Pros: strong A/C, comfortable bed, big room, rainfall showerhead with good pressure, right on the town square for easy walking around town. Room service delivery requests for an iron and more towels were delivered as expected. Easy parking right outside. Nice bar lounge.

Cons: poor wifi connection in rooms, no free coffee in the morning, stairwell and pool smell strongly of chlorine. Biggest con though was that the shower in our room (29) didn't drain right and flooded the floor. We informed them of this three days in a row and they told us each time that it was fixed but it wasn't. After the second time we asked if we could be moved to a room with a working shower and they said they couldn't move us but assured us it was fixed. Left without being able to shower and with no accommodations or concessions given the inconvenience.

Would likely stay again but next time I'd check all room facilities on arrival and if they didn't work right advocate for a different room.
